定価で購入した2列目中央！見やすいはず、、がしかし、目の前
に巨大カップルが座っているのです。私の前の女性がでかいOrz
客席に深く座ってようやく床の表面が見える程度の床の高さ
でした。１階席は9割の入り？
午前中はハーレムで朝の礼拝に参加してゴスペル聴いてきました。
私の一生のうちでもっとも多くJesus を聞いた日でしょう。
床下にバンド、指揮者はキーボードかねてます。
メタリックな大道具、シルバーの梯子・キャットウォークと
シルバーな背景。
前奏曲がながれるとわくわくしました。
脳内で中途半端に日本語に変換される歌詞、えーとなんて言っ
てたっけ？
若者たちは現代の服装、ジーンズにパーカーといった姿、体制
側はメタリックな機動隊の姿だったり、黒づくめのターバン？
姿だったり。キャットウォークのすぐ下に電光掲示板があって、
死刑まで後何日とでるのです。
アンサンブルは歌主体とダンス主体に分かれており、ダンス主
体はかなり身軽、ぴゅんぴゅん宙を飛んでます。
イエスもユダもいけめん、ユダは若気の至り、若者の苦悩が伝
わってくる感じ。ほんとみんな若いよねえ。アメリカンダンス
アイドルにでてきそうなキャストたち。若者が悩んでいくとい
う物語。え、もう1幕終わり？というくらい良いテンポですすみ
ました。
鞭は左側のクラッキングがあまり鳴っていませんでした。がんば
ろう、鞭もきれいにふってほしい。代役だったの＞鞭のひと
大人チームは渋くて子供たちと好対照、 ヘロデ王は普通にうま
い感じ。とにかく一気呵成に最後まで突き進んでしまいます。
若いっていいなあと感じたプロダクションでした。

この作品をブロードウェイで見るのは2度目、その間に自分自身が
だいぶ変わっしまったのを感じましたよ。
いやー呆けたもん勝ちだよね！競争しないという状態はないのものか。
にいちゃん、駄目男でかっこいい。お父さん、若いのに老け役すばらしい
戦うのがあたりまえ、背伸びして当然、それ以外は許されないとか
大変すぎる。いまの日本でも共通の課題かも。

Wear it like a crown is the final part in Cirkus Cirkör’s trilogy about the body. The first part, 99% unknown, took the audience on a journey inside the body among cells and neurons. Inside out follows the heart, and Wear it like a crown seeks order in the collisions between the left and right cerebral hemispheres.

On a revolving stage, the circus performers move through a world of illusions, shadow play, knife throwing, acrobatics, juggling and drama. Six odd characters, feeling like they are the loneliest on earth, wrestle with their own dilemmas. Every character has his or her own way of trying to reach the others, through ping pong balls and suction cups, among other things. In Wear it like a crown, the director and circus director Tilde Björfors continues to examine the big questions in life in relation to the world of circus. This show has been created in an attempt to understand the chaotic order of the right cerebral hemisphere.

The music is composed by Rebekka Karijord and the title Wear it like a crown is from a song on her album The noble art of letting go. In this tragicomic and absurd performance, Tilde Björfors explores chaos and order and the transformation of risks into opportunities. It is about choosing to wear our failures, fears and shortcomings like a crown. To polish it, and wear it with pride.

ＮＹでマンハッタン外の劇場で見るのは初めての経験です。
最初3列が水平、それから緩やかな傾斜がついています。
最前列でも舞台は胸の高さ。最前列が安くなっていたので
敬遠したのですが、これならやすい前方席でも問題なかった
ようです。
オープニングは衝立を回り舞台の上においてぐるぐる。
そこが扉となって丸い舞台の中にパフォーマが飛び込んで
いくのです。
椅子を持ってきて座ってトーク、そこそこ受けているが聞
き取れない（涙）
ポールダンスは、ポール上で見得を切って、ピューと落ちて
きて地上ぎりぎりで止まる。最後は逆さまで落ちてきて頭上？
ぎりぎりで止まる！
くわえばちの上に風船載せてその上にグラス、そしてぱちん！
くわえばちはインパクトありますねえ。客席がどよめいた
吸盤をチンバランスしておいて、顎から頭上にあげて半回転して
スキンヘッドのあたまにすぽっ！
最初のトークのおじさんとハンドトゥハンド、片手で持ち上げる
パターンが多くて拍手多いのですが、手がプルプル動いてしまう
のは仕方ないのかなあ。
ナイフもった男がいかがわしげに動いたりして、怪しい雰囲気を
つくっているのです
黒い布を舞台にかけたかと思うと、風を吹き込んでふくらます。
そしてその布を着込む形でいろいろなポーズ！
男の相方を換えてのハンドトゥハンド、だと思ったらピンポン玉
が口に登場。ピンポン玉をとばして口でキャッチ、それに
ハンドトゥーハンド！ひとりでふたつとばし、ふたりでカスケード。
値転がって、逆立ちして顔の間をピンポン球が高速に行き来！
1幕最後は巨大チェーンソーのチンバランス、そして小さいチェーン
ソーでチンバランスしてカスケード、最後に木を伐りました
チェーンソーカスケードというのはあるとは聞いていましたが
初めて見ましたよ。

幕間に板をたてていかにもドミノ、ボウリングのボールをおいて
おじさんが扉を開けるとぱたぱたぱたボウルがころころ
そしてナイフがぽーん。
ビニル袋のなかで組体操、電動歯ブラシでドラム、椅子のチンバ
ランスからカスケード。椅子カスケード、投げにくいのか4キャッ
チまで。3ボールのトスに床、斜め板2枚のバウンズ。
おねえさんが下、お兄さんが上で５のバウンズとトス。
おねえさんが背中を床と水平になるように腰を曲げて、その上に
お兄さんが乗って上と下で５のトスとバウンズの競演。
上からぶら下がる形で揺れるポールの上でまたしてもポールダンス、
こうなるとティッシュに近いものも感じてしまいます。
砕いたガラスの上を歩くという曲芸あり。
そして客をひとりつれてきてくるくる回る板にはりつけてそこへ
ナイフをぱしぱし！仕込み？？まあさほどぎりぎりには投げてい
なかったのですがそれでも迫力満点！
そして最後がスゴかった！
ブランコにひとりおねえさんがあがったかと思うとお兄さんまで
あがりました。そこからブランコを起点にしたハンドトゥハンド！
体はぐるぐるいれかわるし、片手で相手の全身を支えるパターン多数。
まさに手に汗握るというのがぴったりのパフォーマンス。
刺激がてんこもりのステージで、本当におなか一杯になってかえりましたよ。
また見てみたい。

Voca People

G列より後ろに人がいません。4割程度のいり？F列はキャストと
目の高さがあってとてもみやすい席でした。
開演直前に私の前に小学校高学年らしき御嬢さんたちの団体が
きました。先生が引率？
Voca 星からきた宇宙人たちが登場、客の一人と手を合わせて
英語を学習するのです。音楽がエネルギーで、エネルギーをた
めてVoca星に帰ろうという筋書き。
人の進化の歴史から歌は始まります。ネアンデルタール人が足
を踏んでイテ！から音楽に、当然バナバボートｗ、ライオンは
寝ている、ハレルヤ、とか聞いたことある曲ばかりが次々にア
カペラで歌われていきます。
実際にその歌をまともに歌うシーンはさほど多くありません。
アカペラ演奏という
感じが正しいでしょうか。ところどころ替え歌もあり。
Voca星人は8人、バス、バリトン、テノール、ソプラノ、アルト、
メゾ、スクラッチ、ビート？リズムを刻むのが二人、その他が
メロディ。
CINEMA!の時間では007, ゴッドファーザー、ピンクパンサー、
MI,ロッキー、ET etc。形態模写含んで、とてもわかりやすい。
随所に客いじりがはいります。頭に手をあてて脳内の音楽を読ん
だり、舞台の上に客あげして一緒に踊ったり。子供たちの引率者
のおじさんを舞台にあげたときは、子供たちがわーわーきゃー
きゃー、すごい盛り上がりでしたよ。
クラシックからロックまで様々な曲をアカペラで演奏したり歌っ
たり、、途中でリズムの男性同士のスクラッチ対決もあり、観客
もふたつに分かれて参加！ヘリコプターの音は本当にヘリが飛ん
でいるかと思いましたよ。
一応英語は少しは話しているのですが、ほとんどノンバーバルに
近いノリ。
これなら英語がわからなくても楽しめると思います。
到着当日で疲れた頭にぴったりの作品でした。

The Story begins in the coast of Coloane, a Fisherman travelling with
his boat enjoys his journey. Suddenly, a mysterious energy from
the water creates a terrible whirlpool,
grabs the fisherman and pulls him to a place and a time of
legends…He cannot realize what is happening at this very
moment within a lengthy time. He observes, lost and intrigued…
when a storm brings a survivor from a shipwreck, a Stranger
to this magical kingdom. The young brave Stranger encounters
and falls in love with a beautiful Princess who was thrown
into a cage by her evil stepmother, the Dark Queen. Without
hesitating, the Fisherman decides to help the Stranger to
fight against to the Dark Queen and rescue the Princess.
With his help, the Stranger & the Princess defeat the Dark
Queen and the Fisherman obtains an unexpected reward.

The Stranger
A mysterious tempest brings a young brave stranger from a
far-off land to the magic Kingdom to free the Princess.

The Princess
The Princess was imprisoned in a cage by her dreadful step
mother, The Dark Queen, to prevent her inheriting the throne
left by her father the departed King.

The Dark Queen
The Dark Queen reveals her evil hatred towards the Princess
and imprisons her in the cage.

The Fisherman
The fisherman takes the audience onto a journey to a timeless
kingdom and helps the Stranger free the Princess.

The Fenelon Minister
The Fenelon Minister is the most trusted subject of the Dark
Queen. Little does she know…He is also a deserter…

The Wise Man
The Wise Man is the guru which silently guides the Stranger
during his dramatic fight to free the imprisoned princess.

The Daughters
The seven daughters are the entourage of the Dark Queen.

The Riders
The Stranger will fight the Dark Queen and the spectacular
Riders in the future to protect The Princess.

The Pyramid Group
A Pyramid Group is the gentle wise man’s soldiers trusted
to accompany and protect the stranger on his quest to free
the Princess.

The House Troops
The guards are the faithful subjects of the Dark Queen
while doing her bidding. They will experience a profound
change of heart.

The Musicians
Live drums, keyboard, guitar and Erhu are present to enhance
your visual experience and stimulate your senses.

The Architecture
The House of Dancing Water Theater was designed by
world-renowned architects Pei Partnership and scenic designer
Michel Crete. Unique in its kind, The House of Dancing Water
Theater special design create a climate of intimacy between
the audience and the performers.
The Pool
This purpose-built theater contains one of the most
spectacular commercial pools in the world, it is 26 feet
deep and holding upto approximately 3.7 million gallons of
water which is more than FIVE Olympic-sized swimming pools,
and is one of the largest water-based theaters in the world.

The Automation (Hydraulic lifts)
During the show, 11 hydraulic stage lifts can transform the
pool to a spectacular stage in less than a minute.

The Rigging
40 winches located in a 360 degrees performer catwalk on
Level 4 are loading and unloading artists and most of the
scenery props. It is 17 meters above the pool level.

The SFX (Fountains)
239 independent water jets built into the stage lifts, providing
water fountain effects up to approximately 18
meters in height.

The Control Booth
The control booth is the nerve centre of our show. It is
where technicians and stage management crews orchestrate

“The House of Dancing Water” is a truly unique show in every sense.
Following five years of development, two years of rehearsal, and with
production investment running at over HKD2 billion (USD250 million),
this incredible production has become the iconic entertainment centerpiece
of City of Dreams and is deservedly garnering a growing international
reputation as one of the most innovative and awe-inspiring productions
to be staged anywhere in the world.


グランドハイヤットのロビーから歩いて数分のところに入り口が
ありました。
ロビーではバイクを前にした記念撮影をフリーで行っていました。
これは終演後に盾などに加工して土産物として販売していました。
小さい写真だけフリー、後は土産物として買ってね！という商売
です。
劇場はサーカスによくある円形、客席の一部が切り取られて奥舞
台となっている前円後方型とでもいう形状。舞台はすべてプール
となっていました。開演前にちっちゃな船が後方舞台を行き来し
ていました。開演15分前でも客席はがらがら、それがらがんがん
客がはいってきて満員！

私が座ったのは4つある価格カテゴリのうち、3番目の価格の座席
で、客席の中で一番広い区画をしめています。一番高いのはセン
ターブロック後方のVIP席、次はセンター中央前方、センターに
隣接したブロックの後方席、そして円形舞台の後方になるところ
が一番安い席、その他が私の座ったカテゴリの席となっています。
舞台に近い前方4席はSplash席ということで水濡れを覚悟するよう
にという記述がありました。でもやっぱり迫力を味わいたければ
最前列ですよね！ということで1週間前に最前列をWebから購入。
水ぬれといってもキャストが水を散らすとか水しぶきがちょっと
跳ね返るくらいだろうとたかをくくっておりました。。。

購入した座席に行ってみると、シートごとにタオルが置いてあり
ました。舞台の向こう側の客席あたりではグループ皆で青いカッ
パを来たり、傘をさす準備をしたり。。そんなに濡れるんですか？
そして現実は予想を遥かに凌駕する水濡れ席でした。オープニン
グシーンではキャストが水浸しで舞台の端にあがって、体から水
を振りまいて、これは想定の範囲内でした。しかし上空からダイ
ブするさいに故意？に水飛沫をあげるとか、浅いプールの状態で
キャストが水を跳ね散らしながらこちらに走ってくるとか、噴水
芸のときに上空からこちらまで水が降ってくるとか、気分はもう
FruzaBruta。タオルで必死にガードしていましたが、もうぐっしょ
りです。まあこんなこともあろうかとビニールのウィンドブレイ
カーを着て行ったのでさほどダメージはありませんでしたが。。
途中でスタッフが替えのタオルを持ってきたのにはびっくり。
物販でロゴ入りポンチョ売れば良いのに。きっと飛ぶように売れ
ますよ。

開演前には、蔦の模様が舞台と客席との境目に上空からつるさ
れていました。蔦がするするとあがるとプールの舞台の真中に
筏船が登場、それが転覆して水没すると何かにひっかかってま
た水面へ。なんとひっかかったのはでかい船のマストの先！
はっと気がつくと目の前にキャスト、水に濡れた体をぶんぶん
ふるって水をまきちらすのです。これがすぷらっしゅか！と思っ
ていた私が甘かった。網梯子をばんばん上ってマストの先から
ドブーン！次々と飛び込みます。その時のスプラッシュが、、、
故意に水はねしているらしき者もいて凄い水量が客席に降って
きていました。
奥のプールの床があがり、キリンや高足も登場。悪玉姫も
小林幸子のような巨大ドレスで登場。吊りを使ったパフォー
マンスは多数、水中と空中からで空間を上下にたくさん
使っています。上でやっていたかと思うと下からという
風情でミスディレクションにより突然出現した気分。
天井からぶら下がった球形の金属棒の中で20人ほどで鉄棒
マスゲームなども、変わった動きはあまりないのですが、とに
かく人口密度が高くて手に汗にぎりました。
白鳥の男子パフォーマンスはとろかるでとAMPの間くらいのノリ？
黒人組体操はなかなか魅せてくれました。
基本的にはヒーローとヒロインの物語で、それを現代から
タイムスリップしてきた傍観者が見ているという感じ。

お姫様が、神殿とともに水没、、というところで動作が停止！
音楽が切れた！！！　どうも故障が起こったようでわらわらと
キャストは引っ込み宙づりになったひとはおろされて回収。
そして一旦休憩をいれて水没シーンから再開！ Show must go on!
ですね。
後半の見せ場は床が水面上に現われてそこらじゅうから噴き
あがる噴水に合わせてのダンスと飛び込み。噴水と同期した
バレエとでもいいましょうか。この噴水も客席まで飛びこんで
いました。
そして最後は完全に水を排除してしまって、バイクによる
スタント！いままで水芸やっていたのにそこにバイクを持って
くる感性がすごいというかなんというか。バイクのジャンプに
は皆おお受けでしたよ。きっとお客さんが喜ぶものをてんこ盛り
にしたらこんな舞台になってしまったのでしょうね。
水中シンクロがなかったのがちょっとさびしかったのですが、
曲芸にダンスに水芸にとおなかいっぱいになった舞台でした。
