内容：
OVO は、さながらカラフルな生態系の饗宴のようです。そこでは生命がみちあふれ、昆虫が
ノンストップの激しいエネルギーと動きで、働き、食べ、這いずり回り、ひらひら飛び回り、
遊び、戦い、愛を求めます。 昆虫の巣は、騒がしい動きと穏やかな感情に満ちた生物の多様
性と美の世界です。
中央にミステリアスな卵が出現すると、昆虫は畏敬の念を抱き、謎と生命のサイクルを象徴
するこの物体に興味津々です。
ぶかっこうでよじれた姿のある昆虫がこのざわざわしたコミュニティにたどり着いて、すてき
なテントウムシに目を奪われるや、互いに一目ぼれしてしまいます。
OVO にはたくさんの対比が出てきます。 私たちの足元の隠された秘密の世界は、穏やかで強
烈、さわがしくて静か、平和で混沌とした世界として表現されます。 そして、新しい希望の
朝に太陽が昇ると、昆虫の生活の躍動する周期が新たに始まります。

OVO is a headlong rush into a colourful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects
work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy
and movement. The insects' home is a world of biodiversity and beauty filled with
noisy action and moments of quiet emotion.
When a mysterious egg appears in their midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely
curious about this iconic object that represents the enigma and cycles of their lives.
It’s love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community
and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye ? and the feeling is mutual.
OVO is overflowing with contrasts. The hidden, secret world at our feet is revealed as
tender and torrid, noisy and quiet, peaceful and chaotic. And as the sun rises on a
bright new day the vibrant cycle of insect life begins anew.

Act

Acrosport　組体操
Combining elements of dance, acrobatics, athleticism and sheer agility, five yellow and-red
fleas fling themselves through the air and come together in graceful, perfectly balanced sculptural
formations.


Ants (foot juggling and Icarian games)　足芸
The hardest working insects in the community are the bright red Ants. As soon as they’re awake
they spend their day gathering food: On the menu today – kiwis and corn. But it’s not all work.
They play with their food, too – with their feet – in an astonishing display of precision juggling
that climaxes with ants juggling ants.
　
Creatura　蛇腹男
Part Slinky, part insect, the Creatura dances to a tune that is all his own. He’s a bendy, twisty
knot of stretchy limbs in constant motion.

Diabolos
　　In a mix of high-speed diabolo and seemingly impossible juggling a firefly sends one, two, three
and finally an astonishing four spinning spools arcing very high in the Grand Chapiteau and back
to earth in perfect coordination.

Flying Act　空中ブランコ
　　In a stunning aerial act, a group of scarabs soar high above the stage, from both edges to the
middle landing on a platform. This breathtaking act combines many circus disciplines: banquine,
Russian swing and swinging chair.

Orvalho (hand balancing)　ハンドバランス、冒頭演技
A Dragonfly performs a graceful balancing act in and out of the slender stalks and twisting tendrils
of an elegant plant. It takes extraordinary control and strength to transfer his weight from one
hand to the other as he maintains equilibrium upside down on top of the foliage.

Butterflies (Spanish Web duo)
Combining hand-to-hand, ballet, contortion and an aerial flying act, this pair of Butterflies
performs a pas de deux on a rope that allows them to swoop and land, leap and fly in perfect
unison.

Slackwire　綱渡り
In a tour-de-force performance a spider defies gravity and physics in a succession of seemingly
impossible feats of strength and balance as he traverses a wire that appears to give him no
support. At one point he hangs at a 45-degree angle over the ground, some 15 feet below,
and he tops that with an upside-down unicycle act. And the wire is in almost-constant motion
up and down, adding to the degree of difficulty.

Wall　壁走り
This act features some 20 artists running, jumping, and walking across – and straight up – an
8m vertical wall without artificial support. Power track and trampolines give them the speed,
lift and momentum to take flight. Their athletic ability, physical strength and team coordination
take care of the rest.

装置：
The Wall measures 60ft wide by 20ft tall. It is supported only on the sides to allow a floor with
built-in trampolines to slide in and out like an enormous drawer.
The larger of the two skins covering the world of OVO measures 75ft wide by 50ft tall.
Three long poles weighing 80lb evoke dandelion stalks. Their spines allow artists to climb them
like ladders.
The waterfall uses dry ice to recreate water and the morning dew.
The egg, which is inflatable, measures 28ft wide by 22ft tall.



会場までバスで移動、Ｘ８０のバスですが、5.5USDのところメトロとの乗り継ぎ（ただしアンリミットのぞく）
だと3。5になるそうです。私は8USDのメトロカードを買って125丁目までの往復＋Ｘ８０に使いました。
これでもお釣りがでるのよね。いつからバスが運行になるかWebに書いてなかったので、開演2時間前
に125丁目のバス停に到着。すでに一人待ってました。15分過ぎから客が待ちはじめて、バスがきた
のが45分(^^;)それで支払いがメトロカードしかだめなはずなのに、乗客の支払いがもたついて満員
でもないのに全員が乗るのに15分かかりました（＾＾；）
会場前のバス停はいつもの場所（でもかなり遠い）より一段と遠くなってお散歩でもしろといわんばかり
の距離。でも周りになにもないのですぐ近くに見えるのです。
到着初日の夕方ということで、ひょっとしたら間に合わないかも、でも満員だと悔しい、ということで一番
やすいカテゴリのチケットを買っておきました。そしてBOXOFFICEへダッシュ、現在いくつかのシルク
ドソレイユ公演では、無料のCirque Clubに加入していると、当日空きがあれば、同じカテゴリでより
良い席へ、差額を払えばより上のカテゴリの席へとかえてくれるサービスを行っているのです。
残念ながら同一カテゴリでは良い席はなし。一番高い席で4列目どセンターというのがあったので
きめました。 差額を払う形ではなく、この場でフルに払い、前のチケットはリファンド（ただし購入手数
料のぞく）という形になるのだそうです。
ショップではAMEXを使うと5ドル引き（ただし10ドル以上）というのをやっていて、パンフレットが８ドルで
買えました。１３→８だとお買い得感あり。

さて、4列目にすわると舞台の床が私の腰あたりになっていい感じです。場内ほぼ満員。一番安い
カテゴリ席までうまったのみるのは初めて。
舞台の前方には小さく白く光る卵、後方には巨大な卵が鎮座しています。防虫服をきた薄茶のキャスト
たちが開演前に現れました。歌舞伎の黒子が使うようなチョウチョ、虫取り網とか、昆虫図鑑とか手に
もって客をいじってます。
左右の後方にバンド、中央後方は素穴のようなデザイン。その中でもこそこそ演技が行われるのです。
舞台全体から目がはなせません。でに横からはみえないだろうねえ。
後ほど舞台の端上方で、巨大なつぼみがひらくのですが、開くだけ？？

最初に舞台に上がったのはバッタ人間でした。赤い姿はなに？
最初は虫ダンスからはじまりました。被り物ミュージカルだｗ

最初はポールの周りを螺旋を描いて降りるパイプをすべったりたったり、バランスしたり、てっぺんで
ハンドバランス、全体としてハンドバランスの一種になるのでしょうが、道具をかえると見え方がかわ
るんですよねえ。ところでその脇で地味にコンタクトをしていたようなのはなに？

フットジャグリングはすごい！最初はキウイの輪切りを足で蹴るのです。6人が並んで音ピタで
合わせ技。で、足に載せていたかと思うと、そのままの状態で逆立ちへ！逆立ち状態でも蹴る！
今度はトウモロコシを蹴る、人の足の上に人の背中がのっかり、その上でフットジャグ。
上の人がぽーんと蹴って、上の人が飛び降りると、下の人が足でトウモロコシをキャッチ！
次は円盤を回します。上の人が円盤を蹴りあげたかと思うと上の人が1回転スピン。前の状態に
もどったらその上にぴたりと円盤が落ちてきて足でキャッチ！お次は2回転スピン！！
3組が横にならんで、円盤をけりあがたかとおもうと今度は人が隣に飛び移って落ちてくる円盤を
足でキャッチ。しかもとび移る段階でスピンしてます。はしっこのひとははみだすのです。
回す物や回し方はさほどバリエーションがないのですが、大人数、体術、音ぴたでこれだけのために
金払ってもいいかんじ。でもここは突然チャイニーズなんですね。

お次は、ティッシュー、蓑虫さん？ティッシューから脱皮して抜け出してきます。
4本のゴムのロープで2人ブランコ。
ディアボロは４つまで、、でももっとも大きな歓声があがったのは２つのハイトス、テントの天井付近まで
いきましたよ。
空中ブランコは、真ん中に透明な中継台？があるパターンで、透明な四角台の上に３ー4人が登り
二人の男が手を組んだ上に人が立ち、そこで人を左右両端にいるキャッチャーまで投げる！
芸をより大きく見せる工夫？
空中ブランコを片づけると、幕間に今度は蜘蛛の巣のようなロープが舞台の端から外側にむかって
はられました。スパイダーマンが出てきてもおかしくない風情です。（これでSpiderman the Musical
をやってくれないかなーとは思った）

さて2幕ではなにが？と思っていたら、その蜘蛛の巣の真ん中で軟体。えっとこのロープは雰囲気
だけなの？軟体がおわるとするするとロープお片付け。
そして次は組体操。まあこれはよくある形。
この公演で2番目に拍手が多かったのは次の緩いロープの上の綱渡りでした。この演目は
中国雑技でときどきみられるものです。しかしシルクドソレイユはその綱自体が上下するところが違う。
決めのポーズになったところでうーんと上にあがるとそれだけで見栄えアップ！
綱の上のでんぐりがえし、へんな器具を使って綱の上で逆立ち。とどめは綱の上を一輪車を逆立ち
しながら漕いでいくというものでした

客いじりは、恋人さがし、のりの良いおねえさんはキャストに指示されるまえに投げキッスｗ
つるつるのおにいさんを最後につかまえていろいろやらせたあげく、頭をさしてOVO！

トリはフリークライミング＋トランポリンによる、ダンス、群舞、組体操、壁走りでした。舞台の後ろ全面
がフリークライミングの壁となり、その下にトランポリンがあるのです。誰がフリークライミングの足場の
上で群舞しようなんておもったんでしょうねえ。発想に脱帽。
トランポリンは壁の直下に細長く設置された以外に壁の中央から舞台前面に向かって設置されており、
走ってきてのジャンプが舞台正面に向かって行われました。これは絶対正面でみるべし、ですね。
私は真正面に座っていたので、私に向かって走ってくる感じでしたよ。席替えをして大正解でした。
壁走りもななめだったり、何人もが揃えて走ったりと豪華。一ヶ月前にマッスルミュージカルでも類似のパ

フォーマンスをみたのですが、全然違う種類のものに見えてしまうのはまずは人海戦術のところで
しょうか。
この番組が終わったとたん、拍手がなりやまず一時ショーストップ。いままでみたシルクドソレイユの
客の中で一番熱かったかもしれません。
