景気がいいんですかねえ。発売初日でちょっとぐずぐずしていたらもう4階席になって
しまいました。いままでは悪くて3階だったのでしから、売れ行きがすごくよくなったのか
Ticketmaster への配券が悪くなったのか。
今回びっくりしたのはロビーに売店ができていたこと。土産物としてＴシャツやトートバック
を売っていました。私は記念にTONYトートバッグを買ってきました。






それから開演前は酒、開演中も水を売るカウンターができてました。いやーばりばり儲け
る方向に走りましたね。まあいままでなかったのが不思議なくらいですが。
舞台も枠はいつもとかわらないのですが、背景が大きなビデオスクリーンとなっており、
4階席からちょっと見るだけでは実物とかわらない質感を醸し出してました。セットの組み
替えなどが映像の中で行われるのです。でもそのくせ左右のゾーンでは背景がかわらな
くなっているなあ。今回はじめて４階だったけれど、そんなに視界は悪くない。これで安け
れば文句なしなのですが。。。

さて開演です。ブロードウェイは8000人もの雇用と98億ドルの経済効果があるとか言って
ます。いつも通りちょっとマイナーな賞からアナウンス、Memphis が次々と取ってます。
今日はMemphisの日なのか？対抗のFelaはいまひとつぱっとせず。応援団はあきらかに
異なる客層でしたね。
マイクを曲げるな、1分半で終えろなど、スピーチの制限事項を説明してTV放映開始！
オープニングは各舞台細切れ。案の定GreenDaysの本物も登場!
ストレートプレイはキャストたちが登場して映像を背景に説明。司会のスパイダーマンの
コスチュームにはびっくり。（今年開演ほんとにできるの??>Spiderman)
TVＣＭの間に古いミュージカルＣＭとか昔は流れていたのですが、いまひとつ手を抜い
ている感じでネタとしてはいまひとつ。昨年より色々コストダウンしてませんか？
ラカージュでは客いじり。プレゼンターでは、Promises コンビやAddams コンビが自分が
ノミネートされなかったという自虐ネタ？を披露。かなーり受けてました。
作品賞はスピーチが延々と終わらず、司会者やきもき、その脇で再度パフォーマンス
が行われてエンド。
受賞作品のばらけぐあい、楽曲賞にストレートプレイがノミネートされた、等を見てもわか
るように、全体として既存の曲を使った小粒な作品ばかりというのが今年の特徴でしょう。
またハリウッド俳優の進出が著しい（というかハリウッド俳優によって売り上げ増を狙った）
印象が強い年になりましたね。
