A one-of-a-kind, interactive show, John Tartaglia’s Imaginocean is a magical, musical
undersea adventure for kids of all ages. Tank, Bubbles, and Dorsel are three best friends
who just happen to be fish, and they’re about to set out on a remarkable journey of
discovery. And it all starts with a treasure map. As they swim off in search of clues, they’ll
sing, they’ll dance, and they’ll make new friends?including everyone in the audience.
Ultimately, they discover the greatest treasure of all?friendship. Jam-packed with original
music ranging from swing to R&B to Big Band, John Tartaglia’s Imaginocean is a blast?
from the first big splash to the last wave goodbye.

Dorsel is the youngest of our fish friends. He looks up to Bubbles as a big sister and admires
Tank for his strength. Dorsel is scared of germs, and worms, and jellyfish, and-well, Dorsel's
scared of everything! He likes sanitizer and all things safe and clean! Though all of our
friends go off on quite an adventure, it's Dorsel who has the biggest journey of all, and ends
up being the bravest in befriending Leonard the octopus. If you're looking for a great and
loyal best friend, Dorsel's your fish!

Bubbles is a fish with a big heart and huge imagination who dreams of ponies and clouds and
magic. When it looks like all hope is lost in retrieving the blue medal on the journey for our
treasure, it's Bubbles and her vivid imagination that saves the day. She's Tank's buddy, and
a big sister to Dorsel, whose paranoia and worrying Bubbles finds charming. Bubbles is the
charm and beauty of our fish trio.

What Tank may lack in eloquence, he makes up for in strength and a huge heart. He's the
oldest and biggest and the engine of our fish trio. Helping a baby jellyfish? Not a problem
for Tank. Riding the biggest and craziest currents in the ocean? Bring it on! No adventure's
too big for him. Dorsel and Bubbles let him often take the lead, and they know that though
he may be gruff and buff, he's a big softie at heart.


New World Stages は何度かきていますが、この劇場にはいるのは初めて。
いまはAvenueQとか39stepsとか上演されているのですね。



チケットは当日に劇場窓口で購入、客席の入りは約6割。さすがにお子さま率とても高し。明らかに
5割超えてます。子供連れでなさそうなのはほんの数組しかいません。
しかもすごく小さなお子さまが多い。みんなかわいい。でもうるさいw
舞台は下と左右に装飾が施してあり、はしっこや最前列からはちょっと見づらくなっています。
でも最前列は別のお楽しみが。。
開演間際になり、スタッフの号令一下、客がはしっこから中央の席へ大移動となりました。
どういう基準でチケット売っていたのでしょうか？
舞台の左右の装飾に魚が一匹ずつ、この2匹が左右でつっこみしあって、前説してました。
お願いは次の三つ。
１．開演中は歩きまわるな。
２．電話はだめ、撮影するな
３．大声で笑え、拍手しろ、大騒ぎしよう！
いいですねえ、最後のお願い。
さて幕が開くと劇場全体が真っ暗になりました。そして頭上からたくさん落ちてくるものが、、、
ブラックライトに照らされたシャボン玉がすごくたくさん空中に！海の中にはいった気分。
これから先終演までブラックライトだけを照明として人形劇が演じられるのです。
ちなみにシャボン玉が服にあたってはじけたところは終演までぼんやりひかってました。
暗闇の舞台に浮かび上がるのはお魚たち、メインキャストは3匹。そして舞台から飛び出して
きます。客席に語りかけもするので、舞台と客席の敷居がすごく低い感じです。
物語は宝の地図を拾った魚たちが宝物を探しに海を旅するというものです。
まずはくらげをたすけます。クラゲたちのSing Sing Sing ダンスがかわいい。なにせブラック
ライトだけなので上下左右前後縦横無尽に動けます。
次は方向を迷わせようとたくさんの矢印がこれまたダンス！イマジネーションをめぐらせる歌で
想像力をみせ、でかいタコとも遭遇し、初めてのお友達になってあげたりもします。
途中でコインを拾ってそれと引き換えの最後のお宝は友情、そしてFriendshi Bracelet,,
ああだからブレスレット売ってたのね(^^;)
エンディングはまたたくさんのシャボン玉！、物語が簡単で英語がわかりやすく、そして人形が
かわいい。短い上に安いので英語の勉強を兼ねて楽しむのにも良いかもしれません。
うきうきして劇場を出ました。
